Chef / Cook TreeTops Cafe Herons View Visitor Centre

The Greensand Trust is looking for a professional Chef/Cook to add to our growing catering team. Our ethos is fresh, quality and local and you will be working with the catering manager to deliver a quality experience to visitors. You must thrive in a busy kitchen, be experience in costing menus, day to day kitchen management, waste sheets, C.O.S.H.H. and ordering. Excellent communication and team building skills are essential.

We can offer the successful chef/ cook up to 30 hours per week, you must be available to work both weekends and bank holidays, have worked in a professional kitchen for at least two years and have relevant qualifications in food hygiene and food safety.

Countryside Warden Rushmere Country Park & Aspley Woods

We are seeking Countryside Wardens to join the Greensand Trust Ranger Service, to support the management of Aspley/Woburn Woods, Ampthill Park and Rushmere Country Park in Bedfordshire.

The successful post holders will assist the Greensand Trust Ranger service to provide support for visitors, management of cycle and horse permit schemes and practical conservation work. The ideal candidates will have an interest in managing the countryside demonstrated either by voluntary/ work experience or study in this field. A professional outlook is required as a major requirement of this job is the ability to work with visitors and the general public.

You need to hold a clean driving licence and be a minimum of 21 years old for insurance purposes. You must be able to work Bank Holidays, school holidays an weekends You will work a minimum of 7.5 hours (rising to 15 hours in July) a week rising to a potential maximum of 37.5 hours a week during school and bank holidays.

Voluntary Visitor Services Officer Herons View Visitor Centre

The Greensand Trust relies on the support of volunteers to provide visitor information and services to visitors to Rushmere Country Park.

The main responsibilitites of this role are to assist the Visitor Services Team to:
• To engage with visitors ensuring they feel welcome and recognize how much we value their support.
• Respond to visitor enquiries providing information and guidance to visitors, whilst also promoting the site and its activities
• Process retail sales, parking, cycle and horse permit sales and donations

The hours can be flexible and are managed on a rota system, working as part of a team of volunteers to provide visitor services whilst the centre is open. Relevant experience is helpful but not essential as training will be provided, however given the nature of the role it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a positive and engaging attitude.
